In the period from February 21 to 22, 2014 in Honolulu, USA the international scientific Conference of the RUSALCA Project “RUSALCA 2014, Principal Investigator's Workshop: Synthesis and Publications” was successfully held. The Conference was organized by US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in cooperation with the Russian participants of the Project.
The event was dedicated to summarizing 10 years of Project implementation, as well as to the planning of actions and researches for the next decade. The Conference brought together scientists from the leading research institutes and universities of Russia and the United States. They discussed the current problems of the Arctic in the context of understanding the causes and consequences of climate change in the Pacific sector of the Arctic Ocean: the preservation of the environment in the region, development of natural resources in the Arctic, the observance of national interests and the maintenance of international dialogue.
